The TPA3110D2 is a 15-W (per channel) efficient, Class-D audio power amplifier for driving bridged-tied stereo speakers. Advanced EMI Suppression Technology makes it possible to achieve EMC standards while using low-cost ferrite bead filters at the outputs. An adjustable power limiter and a DC detection circuit are SpeakerGuardTM speaker protection circuitry features. The user can set a “virtual” voltage rail lower than the chip supply with the adjustable power limiter to restrict the current going through the speaker. When input capacitors are destroyed or there are input shorts, the DC detect circuit checks the frequency and amplitude of the PWM signal and turns off the output stage.
Stereo speakers can be driven by the TPA3110D2 at a low 4. The TPA3110D2, with a 90% efficiency rating, does not require an external heat sink when playing music.
Additionally, the outputs are completely shielded from shorts to GND, VCC, and output-to-output. An auto-recovery feature is part of the heat protection and short-circuit protection.
